Wiveton Hall Cafe
Location:
Wiveton Hall Cafe is really easy to find, just off the A149 between Cley and Blakeney in North Norfolk. I took some friends there this last weekend, as the cafe is only open for breakfast at the weekend.

Entrance:
Once you pass down a long but tidy drive you will arrive at the cafe, the outside looks quite ordinary, but, inside it is in complete contast, a very pleasant experience. With lots of art and some lovely bright colours throughout the cafe, so relaxing.

Service:
The service was really good with friendly and attentive female staff, they explained the menu and the ingredients in quite alot of detail.

Menu:
The menu was quite simple with all the different dishes that one would expect at this type of menu.

On the Plate:
This was the interesting part, which the four of us were really looking forward to, the pressure was mounting with baited breath.
As I mentioned earlier there was four of us, two of us choose the Full English, one ordered scrambled eggs on toast and the other chose mushrooms on toast. Each dish was very well cooked and presented with all the ingredients explained their origin from one of the ladies that delivered the breakfast. The bacon and sausage were very succulent and full of flavour sourced from a local butcher, for me the highlight was the field mushroom, absolutely amazing and cooked to perfection. I’m not 100% certain but I think the eggs came from the free range chickens on the farm, the yolk was lovely and yellow and was certainly fresh. Even the pats of butter were very well packed in little round foil and also tasted gorgeous. The whole breakfast was a really lovely experience, my guests also totally agreed with me.

Cheese Scone:
Once again, they looked lovely and a really good size, I will certainly be back to taste them.
Coffee:
The coffee was blended by Wiveton Halls own supplier to their own specification, I would imagine by the chef, certainly a wonderul cup of coffee
Pricing:
I’m afraid to say that I am unable to say how much the meal was, as my guest jumped up and paid the bill, which was very nice of Ian and very kind, but I do know that the Full English was £8.95, the scrambled eggs £5.75, but not sure how much the mushrooms on toast were, nor the coffee and tea.
In Conclusion:
My guests and I really enjoyed the experience of having breakfast at Wiveton Hall Cafe, if there were a couple of comments to make, there was no option to enjoy baked beans (in their opinion, they do not like ingredients from a tin), as it does act as my gravy, and the other point was that the breakfast time slot was very limited. Our table was booked for 09.45 which was a little aerly, especially on a sunday morning, but it was the only vacancy.
I would certainly reccommend this venue for a lovely breakfast and atmosphere, one of the best in North Norfolk.
